Our mission as a church is simple: to know Jesus and make Him known!
We will seek to carry out our mission as a church through emphasizing our five core values.
1. BOLD PRAYER: We will be a dependent church that trusts not in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God (1 Cor. 2:5). We acknowledge that salvation and sanctification is the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit and thus we desire to be a church that consistently prays bold prayers for the Lord to bear fruit through this church for His glory.
2. INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP: We exist as a church to know Jesus. Therefore the leaders of the church will be devoted and resolved to present everyone mature in Christ through the Word of God (Col 1:28, 2 Tim. 3:16- 17). Growth and maturity in Christ will be the expectation, not the exception through a devotion to the preaching and teaching of the Word of God.
3. FAITHFUL EVANGELISM: We exist as a church to make Jesus known. Therefore our congregation will have an outward focus and the pastors of the church will labor to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Eph 4:12). We are resolved to spread the fame of Jesus throughout the military community and the city of San Diego and leave the results to God.
4. DEVELOPING MULTIPLYING LEADERS: We will be resolved as a church to intentionally raise up multiplying ministry leaders and sacrificially send out equipped church planters for the spread of the gospel throughout the city, nation, and world (2 Tim. 2:2, Acts 13:2-3).
5. GOSPEL COMMUNITY: We desire to maintain and cultivate the unity of the church that the Spirit of God has created through the gospel (Eph 2:15). As the redeemed family of God, we will resolve to not live like a family, but as an actual family. Through our unity, we desire to be an apologetic for the gospel that saved us and united us (John 17:21).
We affirm the Baptist Faith and Message of 2000.
